Rodney was born in Wilkes County, NC on September 18, 1938. He loved his family deeply and was deeply loved. A native of Purlear, NC, he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing with his buddies and grandchildren, golfing, and nature.

A veteran of the US Navy, Rodney served as an operator/dispatcher for Duke Power in Greensboro for more than 33 years.

A man of strong faith, Rodney served as deacon at First Baptist Church, Summerfield, NC. Moving to Matthews, NC in retirement, he became a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolene Brock Eller and four daughters: Lisa White (Kevin) of Nokomis, FL; Susan Barbour (Jon) of Matthews, NC; Amanda Harding (Roger) of Charlotte, NC; and Rebecca Bennett (Rick) of Maryville, TN. Additional survivors include eleven grandchildren, thirteen nieces and nephews, and two brothers, Brent Eller (Loretta) of Purlear, NC and Revis Eller (Anne) of Chapel Hill, NC.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents Radford and Toy Eller of Purlear, NC and three brothers: Tracey Eller of Rural Hall, NC; Clark Eller of Wilkes County, NC; and Greg Eller of Purlear, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 15 at 2:00PM at Mountlawn Cemetery in North Wilkesboro, NC.
