Mr. William C. Hinson Jr, 88, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. passed away at his home Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, and is now with his Savior.

Mr. Hinson was born on March 5, 1926, in Rowan County, son of the late William C. Hinson Sr. and Virgie Eagle Hinson.

He was a 1943 graduate of Richfield High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving as a Second Class Metal Smith on board the U.S.S. Piedmont during World War II. He attended Pfeiffer College and retired from the furniture industry.

Bill was a deacon at the Myrtle Beach Assembly of God and First Assembly of God, Winston-Salem, where his passion was in jail ministry and outreach.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Rachel Hinson Hill and brother "Chub" Richard C. Hinson.

Mr. Hinson is survived by his wife, Delah Brady Hinson, who he married in 1951; son "Billy" William A. Hinson; daughters "Becky" Rebecca Wikle, Mary Lynn Mangieri and husband Richard Mangieri and Melanie Saramaha; brother "Jim" James Hinson, M.D.; sisters Betty Heath and Margaret Gordon; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Service: The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell, on Monday, Dec. 29 with a service following in the chapel at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Mike Warner of Myrtle Beach. Burial will follow in the Gold Hill Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
