Obituaries

Harlan Hernley "Andy" Eller, 88, husband of Jo Annis (Humbert) Eller, of 168 Morton Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Augusta Health in Fishersville, and the family is joyful for the blessings of his life.


Mr. Eller was born on March 23, 1928 in Salem, Virginia, a son of the late Oren and Gladys (Sutphin) Eller.

Harlan was a member of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren and was a self-employed Dairy Farmer. Prior to dairy farming, Mr. Eller was employed for the Virginia Department of Transportation. He served on various committees while a member at Middle River Church of the Brethren, he was a member of the New Hope Ruritan Club for 50 years, a member of the Sea Going Cowboys and a volunteer at the Verona Food Bank. "Farming was Mr. Eller's life and he was very proud to be a farmer."

In addition to his parents, Mr. Eller was preceded in death by a brother, Neil Eller and a son-in-law, David A. Senger.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years is a son, Kevin Humbert Eller and his wife Karol of Sterling; a daughter, Jo Lynne (Eller) Senger of Crimora; two sisters, Kathryn Roller and Janet Coffman, both of Bridgewater; three grandchildren, Chris Senger and his wife Kris, Jason Eller, and Lindsey Eller; a great-granddaughter, Koralyn Senger; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 in the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren by Rev. Jeff Carr and Rev. Chris Zepp.

The family will receive friends following the service.
