Mr. James "Jimmy" Everett, age 69, of Blairsville who passed away on Wednesday morning, April 3, 2013.

Jim was born and raised in Union County, and was the son of the late Glenn and the late Ethel Everett. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Everett. Jim attended Union County High School, and was on the very first football team. Jim played basketball, baseball, football, and ran track. 

He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch his grandchildren play ball. Jim also loved horses and was a founding member of the Union County Saddle Club. Driving his wagon and camping were activities that he enjoyed, along with hunting and fishing. For many years, Jim was a brick and stone mason, and worked in the construction business before he retired. Jim was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.
