- Olive Brand
LEAD-- Services will be 10 a.m Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church here for Olive Brand who died unexpectedly Tuesday at a local hospital.
The Rev. Vern Broughton will officiate. Daniel Funeral Home of Lead is in charge and burial, at a later date, will be in Mountain Lawn Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 18, 1909 at Ipswich to Charles and Effie Mae Crane. She attended school in Ipswich and married Marion Brand Jan 27, 1927 in Faulkton. They lived in rural Faulkton until 1934 when they moved to Lead where they have lived since.
She was a member of Bethel Lutreran Church
Surviving are her husband; four sons, Orville of Frederick, Md., Donald of Lead, Dale of Deinburg, Tex. and Melvin of Estes Park Colo.; one sister, Mrs Roy (Iva) Rose of Oakley, Kan., and two brothers, Floyd Crane of Wenatchee, Wash. and Ernest Crane of Ipswich.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, including a twin brother Orville.
A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.
Olive Brand services held
Funeral services for Olive Brand were held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Bethel Lutheran Church, Lead. The Rev. Vern Broughton, pastor, officiated.
Special music was provided by Mrs. Dean Tusha, soloist, who sand, "How Great Thou Art," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs Leroy Beringer was the organist.
Pallbearers were Ronald Burns, Edward Curran, George Klingler,m Russel Paul, Henry Schumacher, Sr. and Stanley Ireland. All other friends were considered honorary bearers.
Interment will be at a later date at Mountain Lawn Cemetery, Arrangements were under the direction of the Daniel Funeral Home.
