- Thelma (Carpenter) PAGE furnished me with six pages of material on Mar. 8, 1995, all her descendants, and a lot of her in-laws information, I am gratefull to her for all this data.
OBITUARY: Thelma L. Page, age 76, a rural Fedora farm wife and dedicated mother and grandmother passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 1996 at the Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell from a lengthy illness.
Thelma L. Carpenter was born on April 29,1919 to George W. and Agnes (Fiedler) Carpenter. She was raised on a farm soth of Fedora and attended school in Fedora.
Thelma married Maynard C. Page on February 7, 1938 at Woonsocket, South Dakota. Maynard passed away on May 11, 1989.
Thelma was very active in her church activities. She was a member of the Fedora Endeavor Presbyterian Church of Fedora, South Dakota. She was a 4-H leader for 13 yerrs, a member of the Old Friends Club, Home Culture Club, Fedora Grandmothers Club, a reporter for the Miner County Pioneer and many other activities.
She took great pride in her family and attended all their activities until her illness in June 1995. Her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren added much joy to her life. Greatful for having shared her life are her children and spouses, eight sons: Donald and Karen of Artesian; Darrell and Phyllis of Andover, Mn.; Raymond and Linda of Elkton; Roger (Rick) Belleville, MI.; Dale and Diane of Howard,; Randy and Donna of Scotland; Tom and Jane of Artesian; Dan and
Gibi of Fedora; seven daughters: Pauline and Larry Hohn of Mitchell; Audrey Pierson of Mitchell; Mary and Larry Shoemaker of Bell Fouche; Carol and Cith Weidel of Harper Woods, MI; Terri and Kirk Severson of Clark; Cathy and Gary Cuka of Tyndall; Anita and Layne Nicholson of Artesian; 46 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Kenneth Carpenter of Paxton, Ill.; Douglas arpenter of Watertown: five sisters: Helen Rogers of Sioux Falls;azel Berger of Des Moines, IA.; Marian Roby of Carthage; Irene Berger of Calif.; Margorie Wiese of Fedora; and a host of special Nieces & Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Maynard (1989), an infant son and an infant daughter, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. one brother and one sister.
