Douglas D. Eller
1944-2019

Mr EllerDouglas D. Eller, 74, of King George went to be with his heavenly father while surrounded by his family at his home on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Doug was born on November 12, 1944 in Rabun County, Georgia.

He is from the Jacob Eller line through Harvey Penland Eller.

Ronald Howard Eller
1965-2019

Mr EllerRonald Howard Eller, born Dec. 24, 1965 in Creswell, died early this last Monday, Oct., 28, 2019, at home in Tualatin, Ore.

In his life he'd been a student, a soldier, a grocer, a husband and a father. Most recently he owned his own bookkeeping business, played games and enjoyed campfires in the out-of-doors.

Joanne Graves
1932-2019

Ms GravesWe have learned of the passing of another John Jacob Eller descendant, Joanne Sutton Graves.

Joanne goes back to Adam Eller who was Susannah "Sukey" Eller's brother. Joanne lived in Lancaster, South Carolina and leaves three daughters.

Francis Eller
1930-2019

Ms EllerWe note the passing of Mary Francis Eller, a longtime member of the Eller Family Association and wife of John C. Eller of Rowan County, NC.

She was born on January 6, 1930 in Cabarrus County to the late Rev. Clyde D. Hopkins Sr. and Varnie Shue Hopkins. She passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Novant Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC.

Karl Eller
1928-2019

Karl ellerKarl Eller, advertising pioneer and business visionary, died on May 10, 2019, in Phoeniz, Arizona. He was born in Chicago in 1928. He was a pioneer in outdoor advertising, newspapers, radio and television. He was president of Colombia Pictures in 1960. He was president and founder of "Circle-K" stores in 1983.

He traces his family back to Morris (Movsha) Eller (1866-1943) who immigrated to Chicago from Libau, Russia in 1883.

Meade Temple Eller
1991-2019

Mr EllerMeade Temple Eller, 28, passed away, at home, on June 21, 2019, after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis. He received a bilateral lung transplant in March 2017. Meade was predeceased by his grandparents, maternal uncle, Rob Schonk and paternal aunt, Elaine Fagan. He is from the Christian Eller line.

Jeremy Eller
2001-2019

Jeremy Eller, age 18, died on Nov. 6, 2019, from injuries related to being struck by a car in the Atlas Mountains while with the KennedyLugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad Program in Rabat, Morocco. He died while with friends who loved him on a grand adventure that made him happy.

Maude Melton
1923-2018

Ms. MeltonGenealogist Maude Roddy Melton of Tennessee died recently In 1996 she authored an interesting article on David Eller's service in the Civil War.

Ms. Melton was a descendant of David Eller, and can trace her line back to George Michael Eller thru his son Peter Eller.

Byron Eller
1921-2018

Byron Harlie Eller was a long-time member of the EFA and the author of numerious "Chronicles" stories on Ellers in the Civil War.

He was the 1993 recipient of the James Hook award; a doctor, a teacher and an avid Civil War historian.

Mr. Eller passed away in October 2018 at the age of 96. There is more about Byron Eller in the May 2019 "Chronicles."

Devon Dahl
1942-2018

Mr Dahl width=Mr. Devon Nilson Dahl of Fountain Valley, CA passed away at age 75 on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Devon was born in Ogden, Utah on November 4, 1942 to the late Earl William and Evaline (Thurgood) Dahl.

Mr. Dahl is a former EFA Vice President (2003-2005).

Royal Clyo "Buddy" Eller, Jr.
1938-2018

Mr. EllerRoy (Buddy) Eller, of Charlotte, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at University Hospital in Charlotte.  He was born on February 16, 1938, in Gaston County to the late Royal Clyo Eller, Sr. and Leah Briggs Eller.

Buddy married Nancy Traywick, of Belmont, on April 25, 1964.  They have two children, Royal Clyo Eller, III, and Amy Elizabeth Eller.  They built a wonderful life together that was filled with love, fun and laughter.

Mr EllerJames Clifton Eller, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Wasilla, Alaska on March 9, 2017. Clif was born July 23, 1929 in Robbinsville, North Carolina, the eldest son of Hobart Hobson and Fannie Elizabeth (Jones) Eller.

Harlan H. Eller
1928-2017

Harlan Hernley "Andy" Eller, 88, husband of Jo Annis (Humbert) Eller, of 168 Morton Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Augusta Health in Fishersville, and the family is joyful for the blessings of his life.

Mr. Eller was born on March 23, 1928 in Salem, Virginia, a son of the late Oren and Gladys (Sutphin) Eller. Harlan was a member of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren and was a self-employed Dairy Farmer.

Vern Robert Eller, Jr.
1944-2017

Mr. EllerVern Robert Eller Jr. "Bob E" was born July 29, 1944 in Crescent City, Ca. He worked at Safeway in Ukiah for 42 years. Bob was a member of the Lions Club of Ukiah and the Elk's club of Eureka, Ca.

He was notorious for giving people a hard time, but he really enjoyed working with his Safeway family and the customers. Bob passed away surrounded by his loved ones on November 22, 2017. Bob is proceeded in death by his parents Vern Eller Sr. and Barbara Charles.

Sue Eller Simpson
1945-2016

Ms SimpsonSue Eller Simpson, 71 passed away July 25th at home under the care of Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born February 23rd, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Travis Littleton Eller, Jr. and Leona Stull Eller.

Thomas Walter Wingler
1948-2016

Ms SimpsonThomas Walter Wingler, 67, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center. Thomas is the son of Curt Wingler and the late Ruby Osborne and his mother and father-in-law, John and Frances Eller.

He was born July 2, 1948, in Corning, Ohio. Thomas was a self-employed paint contractor. His favorite hobby was traveling. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Wingler Knight.

Betty Jean Eller Tutherow
1930-2016

ms TutherowBetty Jean Eller Tutherow, 85, of Rockwell, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. She was born on September 8, 1930 to the late Travis and Viola Earnhardt Eller in Rowan County. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her Husband, Paul Edward Tutherow; and Brother, Travis Eller, Jr., and Sister, Lucille Cook.

Janice Day Cheek
1941-2015

Ms. CheekJanice Marie Day Cheek, age 74, passed from this Earth on July 8, 2015 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee after a lengthy bout with Leukemia.

She was a descendant of Reuben Monroe Eller and served on the EFA Board.

Dwight Edison Eller
1931-2015

Dwight Edson Eller Passed away October 15, 2015. Born March 12, 1931, Milford, Nebraska of an original settler family of Nebraska.

Raised in Clay Center, Nebraska and Bozeman, Montana, he graduated from Bozeman High School and worked as a ranch hand and rodeo cowboy until going on active duty with the United States Army in 1952, having been first in the Montana National Guard. After serving overseas in France he mustered out in 1954 and moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona

Rev. Joseph C. Eller
1943-2015

Me. EllerReverend Joseph C. Eller (J.C. or Joe), age 72, passed away in a Chattanooga hospital Tuesday morning, November 24, 2015. He had been a minister of the gospel for the past 47 years and was currently pastoring Son Life Ministries in Cleveland where he has pastored for the last 17 years.

He was the son of Maude Crawford and Clifford Eller from the John Jacob line.

Kent T. Eller
1926-2014

Mr. EllerKent T. Eller, age 88, of Edgewater, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia’s Edgewater Care Center. Born in Padena, Georgia, Mr. Eller, an automotive tire builder and owner of Eller Washer and Dryer Repair, moved to Florida in 1998 from Clinton, Ohio.

He served in the United States Army, was a member of Hemptown Baptist Church in Hemp, Georgia, enjoyed golf, fishing, bowling and playing games, and loved his family.

Verlie L. Eller
1922-2013

Mr. EllerVerlie Lionel Eller, born December 25, 1922, passed away October 24, 2013. Verlie was born in Fannin County, GA.

He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European theater and was in the Battle of the Bulge. Verlie and his wife Wilma moved to Arizona in 1967. He was the owner of Eller’s Upholstering in Chandler.

Lynn Eugene Eller
1927-2013

Mr EllerLynn Eller, 85, died Friday, December 28, at his home in Atlanta, only weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church. Lynn participated in many Atlanta musical groups, and for over fifty years he was active in the Chancel Choir at Central Presbyterian Church.

He is a former officer of the Eller Family Association and is from the George Michael Eller line.

Francis Peters
1922-2012

Frances L. Peters, age 89, passed away in Shoreline, WA March 1, 2012. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel W. and Dora Downing-Peters of Sunnyslope, WA; brother, Frank L. Peters of Puyallup, WA; and sister, Margaret Peters-Palmer of Seattle.Ms. Peters is from the Roanoke/Botetourt branch of the Jacob Eller line.
