Tony Sewell, 63, of Belwood went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2021, after a long valiant heart wrenching battle with esophageal cancer. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Troy Sewell.
He is survived by his wife, Tatiana Kimbrough Sewell of Belwood NC, three children Candace Moreno (Wil) of Charlotte NC, Clinton Sewell of Boiling Springs, NC, and Lexi Sewell of Belwood NC, his mother Wanda Sewell of Earl NC, one sister Jeannie Brown (Rick) of Gastonia NC, two brothers Ronnie Sewell of Shelby NC and Alan Sewell (Vicki) of Rocky Point NC. Three nieces Miranda Kinmon (Richie) of Shelby NC, Caroline Schmidt (Matthias) of Mount Holly NC, Tori Sewell of Salt Lake City, UT, two nephews Andrew Brown (Danielle) of Lucia NC, Tanner Sewell of Arlington VA, two great nieces Aniston and Mia Kinmon, two great nephews Rylan Kinmon and Iain Brown.
Tony was born in Toccoa GA and later attended Crest High School until enrolling in the United States Air Force. Tony was a project manager for E.S. Walker Construction in Forest City NC, a rodeo announcer, professional poker player and auctioneer. He was also Past Master of Friendship Masonic Lodge 388 in Boiling Springs NC.
Tony enjoyed watching kids on their journey in youth rodeo and helping Rodeo Polkville grow. His hobbies included playing poker, farming, fishing, riding horses, but most of all time with his family, friends, and fur babies.
The celebration of Tony’s life will be Tuesday, September 14, 2021. The receiving of friends will begin at 4:30pm in Polkville Baptist Church gym, with the service to follow at 6:30pm in Mintz Arena, Polkville Baptist Church 4214 Polkville Rd, Polkville NC.
In lieu of flowers, Tony requested donations be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, Wendover location, 953 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC.
