James Henry Oakley, 51 of 408 Skyline Drive, Toccoa died Monday, April 18, at Stephens County Hospital.Born in Stephens County, he was the son of the late Fate Paul and Annie Verner Oakley and was married to Martha Eller Oakley. He was in Sales with Radio Stations WLET and WZLI and was co-owner of National Fitness Center and Dance Step Studio in Toccoa. He was a member and Deacon of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was active in Boy Scouts and Little League in Toccoa.
Survivors besides his wife include one daughter, Miss Elina Oakley and one son, Mr. Jimmy Oakley all of the home; one brother, Mr. Paul Oakley of Toccoa and brother-in-law, Mr. Loyd Prewett of Atlanta. Also a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral was be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Lodge officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Page, Terry Page, Wallace Whiten, Larry Whiten, Buster Smith and Jerrell Beatty. Burial was be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
